A unique location

The estate, with its 80 hectares of vineyards, is situated close to the town of Peñafiel, Valladolid, in the heart of the so-called “Golden Mile” of the Ribera del Duero (DOC) wine region. The vineyard is divided into multiple, single variety micro-plots of Tempranillo grapes.

The favourable terroir of the estate, with its complex composition of seven soil types, together with the various altitudes and orientation of the planting, combine to produce wines packed with personality, distinguished by their fruity character, colour and exceptional longevity.

Winemaking and ageing

Harvesting is carried out by hand, plot by plot, with initial selection made at the vineyard. We vinify each plot separately for better quality control of our wines. We pick the grapes in 12-kilogram boxes that go into the refrigeration area minutes after picking. This cooling in bunches has been shown to have a beneficial effect on the final quality of the wine.

The grapes are then cold macerated before fermentation, which takes place over the next 9-12 days with daily pumping over and plunging during this time.

The result is 100% Tempranillo, or Tinta Fina fine wines, with a high natural acidity, designed to age rightly in the bottle through the years.
