Hacienda Pradolagar
Wine from an officially designated “Viñedo Singular”, expressive of a unique terroir, the most exclusive of the Marqués de Vargas range. A wine of great longevity, our vino de guarda par excellence, internationally recognized as one of the 15 best Riojas.
A limited and numbered edition estate wine, of which we only release the best vintages, using grapes from the oldest vines on the property, planted an average of 50 years ago.
Hacienda Pradolagar is exclusively made with grapes from our oldest vines on “La Victoria”, a plot declared “Viñedo Singular” by the Ministry of Agriculture, thanks to the unique characteristics of the terroir; the dedication invested in the winemaking process, and the respect for traditional methods.
Wine making and Ageing
After a thorough and careful selection at the vineyard itself of the best Tempranillo and Mazuelo grapes, bunches enter the refrigeration chambers within minutes of manual picking in 12-kilogram boxes. There they stay overnight at a uniform temperature of 6-8oC before manual sorting the next day on the harvest table.
